Real Stories: “I Tried the S+ for 30 Days and Here’s What Happened”
About 18 months ago, I began experiencing difficulties falling asleep. I am a very active 52-year-old woman who has always been able to fall asleep easily and enjoy a good 7 to 8 hours of good sleep every night. I am not the happiest of people to be around without my sleep! Originally, I had bought the S+ for my husband, who tends to suffer from sleep apnea associated with weight gain, but I decided to load the app onto my phone so I too could learn about the true quality of my sleep.
Loading the app and completing my profile was quick, easy and user-friendly. Ever since that first night, I have been pretty religious about logging in and ensuring that my pre-sleep questionnaire is completed and that my information is entered for the day.
I remember being shocked at how little deep sleep I was getting each the night. No wonder I was so tired!!! Ugh! I also learned that I had been experiencing several interruptions during the night.
After reviewing the feedback from the S+, I decided to make some changes. I stopped drinking caffeine after 2pm each day and I stopped doing any mind stimulating activities (e.g. email, word games, sudoku) once I was in bed. I also did my best to go to bed around the same time every night.
The S+ taught me how important the various types of sleep are to a healthy body and mind. Even though I knew how important a good night’s sleep is for us, it never really “hit home” just how necessary it is to get the adequate amount of deep and REM sleep.
I don’t know if I ever want to sleep without the S+. As soon as my eyes open the first thing I do is check my SleepScore. I am striving to achieve a 100% score, which I know is possible. My highest yet is 98%. I will get that perfect score!
