Dr. Mehmet Oz
Dr. Mehmet Oz, also known as America’s Doctor, is the multiple Emmy Award-winning host of “The Dr. Oz Show” and is Professor of Surgery at Columbia University. His research interests include heart replacement surgery, minimally invasive surgery, alternative medicine and health care policy. He has authored over 400 original publications, book chapters, and medical books, has received numerous patents, and participates in 50 heart surgeries per year. He hosts the internationally syndicated “Daily Dose”, writes a nationally syndicated newspaper column. Additionally, he is founder of the top-selling magazine “The Good Life” and co-founder of Sharecare, the leading online health and wellness engagement platform.

Dr. Steven Lockley
Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School
Dr. Steven Lockley is a Neuroscientist in the Division of Sleep and Circadian Disorders at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Sleep Medicine, Harvard Medical School. He is also a Professor in the School of Psychological Sciences at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
He received his BSc degree in Biology from the University of Manchester, UK in 1992 and a PhD in 1997 from the University of Surrey after studying circadian rhythms in the blind. He has 20 years’ experience on sleep and circadian rhythm research, and is a specialist in the effects of light on the circadian pacemaker and other ‘non-visual’ responses to light. This work has led to development of ‘smart’ lighting applications designed to improve alertness, safety and productivity.
He has also studied the impact of long work hours, sleepiness and sleep disorders on performance and health in occupational groups, including doctors, police and firefighters, and has led a number of workplace interventions that have reduced workplace errors and injury rates through application of work hours rescheduling and sleep disorders screening and treatment. He also advises NASA on jetlag and shiftwork alleviation for astronauts and mission controllers, respectively.
Dr. Lockley has published more than 100 original reports, reviews, chapters and editorials on sleep and circadian rhythms and his research is funded by NIH, NASA, DOD and others. He recently co-authored Sleep: A Very Short Introduction from Oxford University Press.
Dr. Nathaniel Watson
Professor of Neurology, University of Washington
Dr. Nathaniel Watson is a board certified neurologist and sleep specialist and serves as Professor of Neurology at the University of Washington (UW), Director of the Harborview Medical Center Sleep Clinic and Co-director of the UW Medicine Sleep Center. Dr. Watson is current President- Elect of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and a member of the board of directors of the American Sleep Medicine Foundation and American Board of Sleep Medicine.
He is Board Certified in sleep medicine and neurology and active researcher, teacher and practitioner of sleep medicine. His research interests are diverse, but mainly focus on aspects of sleep duration and the effects of sleep curtailment on human health.
He is a passionate advocate for sleep re-prioritization in society and has appeared in numerous media including print, television, and radio pressing this issue. His policy work focuses on fatigue in transportation safety.
Dr. Michael Breus
Michael J. Breus, Ph.D., is a Clinical Psychologist and both a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and a Fellow of The American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He is one of only 163 psychologists in the world with his credentials and distinction.
He has been in practice for 17 years treating sleep disorders and continues to see private clients today. He was the WebMD Sleep Expert for 15 years and one of the first “sleep bloggers” on Huffington Post. Dr. Breus is on the clinical advisory board of The Dr. Oz Show and is a regular contributor on the show having appeared over 30 times.
